Educational Technology

Students must earn a grade point average of 3.0 to pursue the certificate in Educational Technology. Please see the required and elective courses below:

Required Courses

  • ETEC 500 Foundations of Instructional Technology (4 units)
  • ETEC 543 Technology and Learning I (4 units)
  • ETEC 544 Design and Development of Instructional Materials I (4 units)
  • ETEC 546 Computer Based Technology in Education II (4 units)
  • ETEC 676D Advanced Topics in Instructional Technology (4 units)

Eight (8) Units to be chosen from the following any Instructional Technology (ETEC) Courses:

  • CSE 125 Programming in Visual Basic (4 units)
  • ETEC 644 Design and Development of Instructional Materials II (4 units)
  • ETEC 676D Advanced Topics in Instructional Technology (4 units)
  • MUS 519 Audio Production (2 units)

The transferring of credit or the substitution of courses may occur only after application to the appropriate campus authority. The certificate is awarded upon confirmation that the requirements for that program have been satisfied. Students are responsible for filing an application with the Office of Records, Registration and Evaluations for granting of the certificate, no later than the last term of certificate-applicable study, and for notifying the coordinator of the certificate program of completion of required course work. The awarding of a certificate will be noted on the student's transcript.
