How to Apply for the Level II Credential Program

Application for Admission to the Special Education Credential Program

Official transcripts demonstrating a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 2.67 in all baccalaureate and post baccalaureate course work or at least 2.75 in the last 90-quarter units attempted

Submission of an application for a Level I Education Specialist Credential or evidence of a valid level I Education Specialist Credential

$35.00 processing fee as evidenced by receipt from the Bursar’s office or verification of electronic payment via My Coyote Student Center

Recommendation for the Credential:
In addition to the program admission requirements and Level II
credential course work, the candidate must successfully complete the
following requirements in order to be recommended for the Professional
Clear Level II Education Specialist Instruction Credential:
- HSCI 540 School Health Programs and Practices (4 units)*
- ETEC 537 Introduction to Computer Technology in Education (2 units)+
- ETEC 546 Computer Based Technology in Education (4 units)+
- Verification of current and valid CPR certification for infants/adolescents/adults
- Verification of minimum of two years of successful full-time teaching experience while holding the Preliminary Level I Education Specialist Instruction Credential
- Verification of successful implementation and evaluation of induction program
- A grade point average of 3.0 ("B") in professional education coursework, with no course grade lower than a "B-"
Applying for credential
Once you have completed the above coursework and above requirements then you will apply for your credential at the COE, Credential Processing Desk in Student Services CE-102. The forms
and instructions to apply for the credential
are available in Student Services and the Credential Processing website.
