MissionThe mission of the Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling is to prepare education and human service professionals through expert teaching and research. We are committed to the development of curricula, courses, and programs that transform individuals and communities.The Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling Faculty are recognized locally, nationally, and internationally for their contributions to their respective areas of teaching, advocacy, and research. The faculty includes authors of numerous well-known texts as well as innumerable publications in the field of Education. The department faculty are committed to providing coursework that is grounded in current professional practice and that is connected to strong theoretical and empirical research foundations. Our department houses faculty who teach courses in child/adolescent development and educational psychology for both the Multiple Subjects and Single Subject Teacher preparation programs. Our faculty also teach in a variety of the graduate programs offered through the College of Education, including the doctoral program (Ed.D) as well as multiple Masters Programs offered in the College. |

The Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling offers a Masters in Guidance Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, Correctional Education, and Special Education. We also offer a Personnel Pupil Services Credential in Educational Counseling and School Psychology. Additionally, we offer credential programs for teachers specializing in Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Moderate/Severe Disabilities, and Early Childhood Special Education.
